Pinot Blanc Infusion - 2017 - Jean François Ginglinger

A beautiful aromatic palette, with notes of apple, peach and white flowers... Palate: taut, refreshing juice. Jean’s 2017s are going through their“graisse”, a phenomenon associated with malolactic fermentation when the wine becomes turbid and viscous, which goes away by itself in time.

A cuvée of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Auxerrois, from vines planted on limestone soils situated at 250 metres altitude, farmed organically and according to biodynamic principles. Vinification: 8 days of maceration for the Pinot Blanc, and direct pressing for the Pinot Auxerrois. The two juices are blended in barrels and then the INFUSION (!) begins – a lovely bundle of whole-bunch Gewurtztraminer grapes are placed in the wine and left to steep for 1 year! Bottled without filtration, and without sulphur, naturally!
