Rosiers Sauvages - 2019 - Jérôme François
La Grange de L'oncle Charles
Complex and evolving nose of rose, orange blossom, honey, candied white fruits, a hint of madeleine... The palate is both dense and tense, with a spectacular length. A few words from Jérôme: "Great white wine, rich, opulent and horizontal salivation."

100% Gewurztraminer from old vines grown biodynamically and planted on a rare Alsatian limestone terroir on the Rosacker Grand Cru in Hunawihr hamlet, at the top of the slope, Southern exposure. Manual harvest and low yields. Natural vinification: 10 days of maceration (before the beginning of the fermentation), soft pressing, 24 months of aging on total lees, in barrels that have seen several wines. Bottled at the Estate without filtration or added sulfites.

JÉRÔME FRANÇOIS
Jérôme François settled in Ostheim in 2014. The young carpenter couldn’t resist the call of the vine and started his estate with a few plots from his grandfather and the barn of his great uncle! Late 2017, Jérôme teamed up with Yann Bury. The guys work their vines biodynamically, and work the soil not with a tractor but with two horses, Sirus and Fastochex. A flock of black Ouessant sheep...
