A nose of red berries and floral notes. On the palate, the texture is magical, fine and subtle. An enormous success, the name Eau Fortecomes from the fact that this wine is very (perhaps too) easy to drink – a gulpable glouglou cuvée... One glass calls for another, guaranteed.

From Gamay grown on granitic soils. The 45-year-old vines are planted at the vineyard site Les Quatre Croix. Soils that he keeps alive by scorning chemistry and weedkillers and ploughing his vineyard instead. Manual harvesting, respect for the grape to preserve the indigenous yeasts. Natural vinification, carbonic maceration of 100% whole bunches, maturation and alcoholic fermentation in barrels for 7 months. No filtration, 1 g/hl of sulphur at bottling, which is to say almost nothing. Certified organic. Wine not presented to labelling authorities and intentionally classified as Vin de France.

Jean-Claude Lapalu est un vigneron proche de la nature, installé depuis 1996 dans la côte de Brouilly. Le domaine compte 9 ha, certifié bio mais ce label ne figure pas sur les bouteilles. Peu de soufre à la mise, on est ici à 1 g/hl. Il y a pourtant quelques temps que Jean-Claude a mis tout le monde d'accord: les passionnés de vins natures, authentiques et les critiques internationaux,...
