Alexandre Jouveaux is a child of the vineyard... While on holiday in Saint-Chinian during his youth, he preferred frolicking between the vine rows over playing in the sea. He would wander among pre-phylloxera vines not far from the Domaine du Petit Gimios, and every year would return for the harvest. He thus grew up in a world of Muscat, Rancio, and Solera... But his father being a lover of the Côte d'Or, he was also introduced to great Pinot Noir. And so was born his passion for Burgundy and cool-climate terroirs. Alexandre tried his hand at a different career for a time, attending the Beaux-Arts and working as a photographer in Paris, but he eventually gave all that up for his first love: the grapevine. While he had been offered a vineyard in Saint-Chinian, he preferred to settle in Burgundy and set his sights on the commune of Uchizy. Today, he cultivates 2.5 hectares of vines there, using organic viticulture to maintain living soils, and making wines without additives. As for the result in the bottle? Simply majestic.
