One of, if not the best Macvin ever produced in the Jura. A dessert unto itself, with notes of candied fruit.
Jean François Ganevat
Jean-François Ganevat represents the 14th generation of vignerons of his family in Rotalier, in the south of Jura. After years working as the cellar master of Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet, he took over his family’s estate in 1998. Ganevat converted the estate to organic viticulture the same year, and then to biodynamics in 2006. Jean-François practices single-parcel selection, that is to say, one soil type, one grape variety = one cuvée. As a result, the estate produces 45 different cuvées every year – and don’t worry, it’s all good, or rather... extraordinary. He is THE master of natural wine vinification, the benchmark for an entire generation of young vignerons. The estate is only 8.5 hectares and the yields are low. Fortunately, Jean François and his sister Anne also set up a wine trading company. They buy grapes cultivated by vigneron friends who respect their vision of wine. Beautiful grape varieties, vinified with foot treading, long carbonic maceration in truncated vats, indigenous yeasts and no sulphur added...
A fruit-forward nose, boasting purity, minerality and great freshness, with notes of granny and citrus. This is some serious crémant – true terroir bubbly, vinous and sure to impress. A sparkling wine that will whet your appetite and leave you happy the day after!
Ultra fresh, energetic juice, with a nose of fresh raspberries, redcurrant jelly, and flowers... Palate: juicy, smooth, light, with a fruity, slightly tangy finish. Beware, this is hugely drinkable stuff!
A nose with notes of pear, almond and brioche... Palate: a fresh, mineral wine with lovely volume and backbone, and a hazelnut finish.
Notes of strawberry, pomegranate and a hint of spice. Palate: a finely acidic juice, very fresh and fluid, with the floral structure of the nose, and a lovely aromatic length.
A characteristic, fruity expression of the Pinot Noir grape... The palate is spherical, no simple glouglou thirst-quencher here, this is serious wine! The 2022 vintage has brought a lot of richness to this juice. Some gas may be present.
A complex nose with notes of lemon cream, sweet spices, and honey... A smooth, unctuous palate – generous, deep and concentrated, with a salty finish to boot. Yet another great cuvée from Ganevat – this is Savagnin the way we love it! Thank you Fanfan!
A nose with notes of pear, candied lemon, and hazelnut... Palate: freshness, minerality, length, beautiful body… the estate boasts many great cuvées, but this ranks among our favourite Savagnins. Thanks Fanfan!
APERO!!!! Need I say more? If you want to look like one of the three little people on the label, you'll have to uncork this fresh, thirst-quenching bubbly with citrus and mineral notes!
A nose with notes of red fruits and spices... The palate: great freshness and fruit flavours... We could drink buckets of this!
A nose with notes of citrus fruits and flowers... Palate: freshness, minerality... A real “K'uvée” for the “K'opins” (copains is French for buddies or mates) – OK it’s not Kosher, but this easy drinking wine will please almost everyone!
