Domaine des Fauvettes
De l'Aube à l'Aube - 2018 - Maryse Chatelin
A generic Burgundy that is anything but generic... This is fruity, mineralesque juice, with notes of candied cherry and blueberry. It’s brimming with character and yet very smooth, well balanced and elegant on the palate – a great discovery. Worth decanting.

100% Pinot Noir, from vines planted in 2012 on a 1.8-hectare plot of clay and limestone soils over ferrous bedrock, facing north-south, at 320 metres altitude, in Uchizy. The parcel has 80cm to 1m of grass between the rows. It is located in an old hunting reserve, and has thus never been touched by pesticides. Vinification: whole grapes bunches are foot trodden, macerated for 10 days, and matured for 18 months in wooden vats. Bottled by gravity, neither fined nor filtered, and zero sulphur!
Maryse Chatelin produces wines of a great finesse, which showcase a true elegance, just in her image. A confidential cuvée that Pinot Noir lovers have been collecting and tasting for a few years now. Indeed, after working for many vintages with his partner Alexandre Jouveaux (also present in the casting of Pur Jus winemakers) Maryse got the opportunity to buy a small parcel among woodland...All wines
