Chardonnay from the vineyard site known as "La Grande Chatelaine", located in the middle of the slope of the Montagne de Beaune, overlooking the valley connecting Beaune to Bouze. (Bouze-lès-Beaune, for those who follow Pur Jus, is the fief of whisky producer Michel Couvreur). A clay-limestone soil with gravel over bedrock. Vines are 30 and 40 years old, facing southwest, Vinification: direct pressing, settling of must. The clear must is fermented in oak barrels which have seen several wines to preserve purity and minerality. Matured on lees 10 to 12 months.
