100% Sciacarello. Vines facing northwest, on a windswept, granite terroir. Estate certified organic in 2002, and biodynamic in 2006. The yield for this cuvée was 30 hl/ha. As for vinification: 30% whole bunches, indigenous yeasts, matured 24 months in 34-hl barrels... Neither fined nor filtered.
Yves Canarelli took over his grandfather’s vines in 1993. In 20 years, he has shifted his viticulture over to biodynamics, and reintroduced ancient grape varietals like Cargaghjolu Nero, which nearly went extinct in the 1960s.
