Metamorphika Macabeu - 2021 - Joan Franquet
Costador Terroir Mediterranis
An intense, complex nose, with notes of apricot, white flowers, orange peel, and a hint of brioche. The palate is in perfect line with the nose, with great length, and subtle, elegant tannins. A wine of beautiful substance, with a mineral finish.

100% Macabeu in the Conca de Barbera appellation, from old vines planted at a high altitude and close to the sea. The vines are cultivated organically, and the grapes are harvested by hand, and yields are small. Vinification is sulphur-free, with 12 weeks of maceration of the grapes (50% destemmed and 50% whole clusters) in clay amphorae, followed by maturation in these same amphorae. Bottled without fining or filtration, without added sulfites.
Joan Franquet is originally from Priorat, very close to Barcelona. Being an olive oil producer from generation to generation, he started working with his father at a very young age on the family farm. But more than the olives, it is the vine and the wine that fascinates Joan. On each of his trips, all over the globe, he loves to visit wine estates and cellars... In 2009, he took a closer...All wines
