At BK Wines, MSG is an acronym not for a flavour enhancer, but a flavourful blend – 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah and 10% Grenache, made from vines planted in the village of Blewitt Springs on sandy soils over clays in southeast Australia. The three grape varieties each undergo a separate carbonic maceration, 30 days of fermentation, gentle pressing, and 10 months of maturation in barrels that have seen several wines. Neither filtered nor fined, and only a micro dose of sulphur at bottling.
