Mtsvane - 2016 - John Okruashvili
A nose with notes of yellow peaches, exotic fruits, honey, and a hint of hazelnut... Palate: dry, taut, with well-integrated tannins, and plenty of freshness. To be shared around the table with a few friends: this is a one-way ticket to Georgia!

A cuvée of 100% Mtsvane, from vines that have never been touched by chemicals, planted at 750 metres altitude in the prestigious Manavi appellation in eastern Georgia. Vinification: whole bunches of grapes are placed in qvevris – large Georgian amphorae buried up to their necks in the winery – followed by two weeks of maceration (which is not much for a Georgian orange wine), but then 19 months of maturation in qvevri. Bottled on the 21st of April 2018, without filtration or fining, and zero sulphur.
John Okruashvili... For now his name may mean nothing to you, as the winemaker is better known by his estate’s name, Okro's Wine. Originally from the little town of Signaghi in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, John has been immersed in his country’s rich wine culture since he was born. But his personal adventure in wine truly began 2009 when he first bottled his own wine under the name...All wines
