Rkatsiteli - 2016 - John Okruashvili
An intense nose with notes of almonds, beeswax, and damson plums... The palate is structured and aromatic, with a touch of acidity, and a long and tannic finish... A wine that will certainly unsettle those who aren’t already connoisseurs of orange wines – prepare yourself for a voyage!

100% Rkatsiteli from vines that have never been touched by chemicals, surrounded by lavender fields and planted at 400 meters altitude around the village of Nukriaani in the famous wine region of Kakheti in eastern Georgia. Vinification: whole bunches of grapes are placed in qvevris – large Georgian amphorae buried up to their necks in the winery – followed by six weeks of maceration on the skins, then 24 months of maturation in qvevri. Bottled on the 19th of September 2018, without filtration or fining, and zero sulphur.
John Okruashvili... For now his name may mean nothing to you, as the winemaker is better known by his estate’s name, Okro's Wine. Originally from the little town of Signaghi in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, John has been immersed in his country’s rich wine culture since he was born. But his personal adventure in wine truly began 2009 when he first bottled his own wine under the name...All wines
