Fontanasanta Nosiola - 2018 - Elisabetta Foradori
A tannic orange wine, with lovely bitter notes, as one would only expect after 8 months of skin maceration! A dry wine, rich and direct, with notes of orange blossom and grapefruit. It’s delightfully surprising!

The estate is located in the region of Trentin, in northeast Italy. The viticulture is respectful and non-interventionist. This grape variety, Nosiola, is cultivated on a poor, clay soil. The grapes are de-stemmed, undergo a very long maceration, followed by fermentation and maturation in closed clay amphorae for 8 months. In time, the wine will be separated from the skins by racking, then be matured an additional 2 months in acacia wood barrels. Total production is 8000 bottles. A very light dose of sulphites at bottling.

The viticulture advocated by Elisabetta is profoundly rooted in her own principals about life, biodiversity, and energy, with biodynamics strongly informing her views on the latter.
