Fossa di Lupo - 2017 - Arianna Occhipinti
A nose with notes of blackberry, blackcurrant sorbet, and a hint of laurel... Palate: a wine of lovely substance, this is a rich juice with great acidity, just touch austere in its youth. A few years of patience will be rewarded many times over. An unparalleled expression of the Sicilian terroir.

A 100% Frappato cuvée, from a single parcel known as Fossa di Lupo, farmed organically and planted facing the Hyblean Mountains in the south of the island, on red and brown sandy soils with some limestone pebbles. Arianna works her parcel here with tremendous precision. The winemaker's vinification here is also as precise as ever, without any additives, maturation in Slovenian barrels that have seen several wines, and just a microdose of sulphur at bottling. 2723 bottles produced.
