Domaine Maxime Magnon
La Bégou - 2018 - Maxime Magnon - Magnum
An exuberant Grenache, fruity and ultra floral... Palate: very fragrant juice, balanced, with lovely tension, and a saline finish. A wine at once powerful and complex.

A blend of 60% Grenache Gris and 40% Grenache Blanc. From a vineyard situated at the heart of the Hautes Corbières, at 200 metres altitude, in the communes of Villeneuve-les-Corbières, Durban and Cascastel. The estate’s 14 hectares of vines are planted on schist and clay-limestone soils, and worked entirely by hand and crawler tractor, without the use of pesticides. Grapes are harvested by hand, with little crates. Vinification without sulphur, fermentation and maturation in barrels, filtered, and a micro-dose of sulphur added at bottling.
Maxime Magnon: simply put, it’s he who restored the image of the Corbières appellation. Burgundy-born, in his forties, he’s worked in Villeneuve-les-Corbières since 2002. But before that, Maxime studied and trained at length alongside many of the greats: Thierry Allemand, Thierry Valette, Selosse... At his estate of around 12 hectares, the environment is respected, chemicals are banned,...All wines
