Blend: 60% Gamay, 30% Pineau d'Aunis and 10% Cabernet Franc, from organically grown vines planted on light flinty clay and silty sand soils. Manual harvest, yields: 45 hl/ha. Natural vinification: indigenous yeasts, direct pressing, aging in vats. Bottled at the Domaine after a light filtration. 2.89 grams of residual sugar per liter.
Olivier Bellanger, child of the '78 vintage, grandson and nephew of vignerons, lives in Monthou-sur-Cher. His career started down a rather traditional path, working 10 years as a vineyard worker at classic estates such as Domaine Philippe Tessier.
