La Roumanie Tout Court - 2019 - Antony Tortul

La Sorga

A complex, floral nose with notes of garrigue, kirsch and chocolate. The palate is delicate and precise, yet boasts tremendous depth. This wine was made for ageing, and now it’s finally reaching its peak.

A blend of 75% Cinsault (from 86-year-old vines) and 25% Grenache from 45-year-old vines, all planted on clay-limestone soils in the commune of Puéchabon in the Terrasses du Larzac appellation. Harvesting is done by hand, with low yields of 12 hl/ha. Natural vinification: the two grape varieties macerate separately as whole bunches for 60 and 90 days, followed by blending, then three years of maturation in old 500-litre barrels. Bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphites, then aged in the bottle at the estate for an additional two years.
