100% Syrah, from 60-year-old vines, certified organic and biodynamic, grown on a terroir of very degraded granitic soils, with a band of clay-loam. Yields: 16hl/ha. Vinification: grapes are 100% destemmed, placed in vats 28-32 days with indigenous yeasts and punching down of cap, gently pressed. Juices are moved by gravity, fermented and matured for 12 months in old barrels and ovoid cement vats. and in cement vats (50%) and 50% old barrels. Racked, filtered and bottled in September 2019, with a pinch (2 g/hl) of sulphur. 2000 bottles produced.
David Reynaud, today in his forties, took over the family estate in 2000, and from the beginning, wanted to convert the vineyard to biodynamics. In 2002, he stopped delivering his grapes to the cooperative, which was uninterested in his desire to improve his work methods!
