A blend of 90% Grenache varietals (noir, blanc and gris) and 10% Carignan. The vines are 70 years old on a south-facing parcel. A natural winemaker, Bruno has his work cut out for him with his steep terraced parcels. Composed mainly of schist soils, mechanised farming is impossible here, so Bruno can only use a horse for ploughing. Vinification: whole bunches, vinified in barrels, without pumping over the must. Matured 6 months in barrels.
Bruno Duchêne, yet another kid from the northern France who headed south for the sunshine of Roussillon. Settling here in 2002 in a middle of a vineyard of vines that were clearly exceptional, but also impossible to work – at least with tractor.
