From a hillside located in the commune of Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy. The soil is made up of hard black schist and clay. Less steep than the Cevins hillside, this slope offers more standard yields, at around 40 hl/ha. Argile Rouge is a blend of Gamay (80%) and Persan (20%), the latter bringing richness, tannins and notes of violet. Vinification is done in vats, with a short maceration, then 8 months maturation in vats, followed by light filtration.

In the 1990s, they started cutting back the forest, rebuilding the ancient terraces and planting grapes anew... and so was born one of the most world’s most unique vineyards, the Coteau de Cevins.
