Equinoxe - 2019 - Antonin Jamois
A deep nose of blackberry, quetsche, and cherry stones, with subtle notes of undergrowth and prunes in brandy. Palate: ultra chewy, great volume, with just the right acidity to perfectly balance the alcohol. This juice is crafted for ageing.

100% Merlot from vines farmed organically and planted in 2001 on a 0.8-hectare parcel of clay-limestone soils over asteriated limestone bedrock, on the plateau’s southwest-facing slope. The grapes were harvested by hand when fully ripe, on the 21st and 22nd of September. Vinified naturally and without additives: 6 months of maceration in vats, with topping up. Then at the spring equinox the wine is put in barrels that have seen three wines and matured 12 months. Neither fined nor filtered, and bottled the 17th of May 2021 without sulphites.
Antonin Jamois, born in 1979 and originally from Paris, was in no way predestined to become a winegrower... After studying agronomy, he left for Argentina and Brazil, then settled for 10 years in Madagascar (hence the name of the Estate!) where he worked as an aquaculturist and as a scuba diver. It is the birth of his daughter that motivates him to come back to France in 2014. Antonin returns...All wines
