Mon Poulain - 2023 - Catharina Sadde

Les Horées

Sold out

A nose with notes of black cherry, wild berries, and a hint of smoke. Palate: concentrated and elegant fruit, plenty of freshness, and a long finish with notes of sweet spices. A wine that’s already drinking very well, this is a very nice introduction to Catharina’s range.

25% Pinot Noir from a parcel in Les Mondes Rondes, on the Colline de Beaune, on red limestone soils, facing South, vinified in whole clusters. 75% Gamay, with 20% from 80-year-old vines in Pommard on rich brown soils (whole-cluster), and 55% from Fleurie (direct pressing). Separate vinification for each varietal, without added sulfur. Aged for 10 months in old casks and in stainless steel tanks. Blending one month before bottling, that was done at the Estate in July 2024. Unfined, unfiltered, with just a micro-dose of sulfur.
