Tsolikouri - 2019 - John Okruashvili
Okro's Wines
Thin and abundant bubbles, very fresh, the nose is already a journey in itself, between apricot, pear, clementine, honeysuckle... Palate: fine aromatic structure, saline finish, one glass calls for another.

100% Tsitska, from old vines that have never been touched by chemicals, planted in the region of Kakhetie, in Eastern Georgia. Harvested by hand, of course, and very low yields. Natural and unusual vinification for a white grape variety in Georgia: the bunches are directly pressed, no skin maceration, and the fermentation in qvevris was never completed so the juice was bottled on the 29th of October 2021 with residual sugars in order to create the effervescence in bottle. Not disgorged, unfined, unfiltered, zero added sulphur.
John Okruashvili
John Okruashvili... Better known by his estate’s name, Okro's Wine. Originally from Signaghi in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, John has been immersed in his country’s rich wine culture since he was born. But his personal adventure in wine truly began 2009 when he first bottled his own wine under the name Okro. To taste the wines of Signaghi is to return to the origins of viticulture:...
