Les Oubliés - 2020 et 2021 - Antonin Jamois

L'Ile Rouge

Nose carried by notes of jammy black fruits, spices and a subtle touch of wood. Rich, powerful and dense palate, a bottle crafted for gastronomy and food pairings, perfectly balanced by a fine acidity which promises a nice ageing.

Blend of 90% Castets and 10% Mancin (two traditionnal and almost-forgotten grape varieties) from organically grown vines. Manual harvest in small crates. Separate vinification of the two grape varieties, total destemming for the Castets and crushed whole bunches for the Mancin, about a week of maceration. Aging in barrels that have seen two to three wines. In the fall of 2021, blending of the 2020 vintage, which was very ripe and powerful with the more fluid 2021 juices. Bottled without fining, filtration or addition of sulphites.

Antonin Jamois

Antonin Jamois, born in 1979 and originally from Paris, was in no way predestined to become a winegrower... After studying agronomy, he left for Argentina and Brazil, then settled for 10 years in Madagascar (hence the name of the Estate!) where he worked as an aquaculturist and as a scuba diver. It is the birth of his daughter that motivates him to come back to France in 2014. Antonin returns...
