The Hoopoe (Huppe) is a bird that always comes back in Spring, perfect representation for this pure and classy juice, with notes of raspberry jam and flowers. The palate is round, fruity, a digestible profile, long and pure finish, almost velvety and luscious.

100% Gamay for the 2023 vintage, a blend of old Gamay d’Auvergne, Gamay from Beaujolais, and a few other Gamay varieties in limited quantities, planted on two plots. Soils of red clay, with limestone blocks in one part and heavily decomposed granite in the other. Hand-harvested, whole-cluster maceration for one week, bucket pump-overs, gentle pressing. Aged 9 months, half in stainless steel tanks, half in old 228L barrels. Unfined, unfiltered, 1 g/hl of sulfur at bottling.

Henri Chauvet
Henri Chauvet, child of the 1987 vintage, is a new winemaker based in Boudes in Auvergne. After quitting his job in insurance banks, he got his viticulture and oenology diploma, and trained alongside Jérôme Bressy in Rasteau, then with the legendary Thierry Allemand in Cornas.
