Léo Dirringer

Léo Dirringer, child of the 1992 vintage, is a young Alsatian winemaker with a bright future. His parents' estate, Domaine Ruhlmann Dirringer, is located in Dambach la Ville, along the beautiful route des vins d'Alsace. It was therefore only natural that Léo would find his destiny in viticulture, and after a diploma in oenology in Montpellier, he left for Switzerland. It was there that he first heard the "call of Nature": after an internship with Marie-Thérèse Chappaz, he’d become convinced of the importance of the quality of the grapes and respect for the terroir. And it was then an earth-shaking bottle of Chalasses Marnes Bleues 2011 by a certain Ganevat which would show him the way of sulphur-free vinifications and their purity. At the end of 2016, Léo took over the estate from his parents and began converting it to organic viticulture. Natural vinifications are de rigueur, as well as biodynamic trials. His first vintage in 2017 was already a success! Since then we kept a close eye on him...
