Emma - 2020 - Patrice Delthil
Domaine Calimas
A tribute to Patrice’s grandmother, "a peasant like me!". The nose is mineral, with notes of cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, and a hint of flowers. Palate: from the first mineral attack, this is aromatic and intense juice, with a long finish. Very nice for the price indeed – pure pleasure!

100% Carignan, from 80-year-old vines, farmed organically and planted at 150 metres altitude on very dry schist soils. The plot is located just below Cyril Fhal's Col du Loup vines! It is usually used to produce the estate’s red wine, Estra Lunat. Harvested by hand with small crates. Vinification: direct pressing, followed by 10 months of maturation in stainless steel tanks. Neither fined nor filtered, and bottled at the estate in early July 2021. With just a microdose of sulphur during racking, the total SO2 is just 14mg/litre, almost nothing!
