Le Vivant se soulève - 2022 - Antonin Jamois
L'Ile Rouge
A bottle in support of Soulèvements de la Terre, the French organization that rises up against soil artificialisation. A fruity, floral nose of grenadine, strawberry, and blackcurrant. The palate is supple and smooth—serve it chilled for aperitif, we need strength to fight for our Earth!

100% Merlot from vines farmed organically and planted on shallow clay-limestone soils. Hand harvested in crates at the end of August 2022. Vinification: whole grape bunches, crushed, go through two days of maceration, followed by gentle pressing, and blending of the free run and press juices, with spontaneous fermentation that finished in Spring 2023. Fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks, bottled at the Estate in June 2023 without fining or filtration, just a micro-dose of sulphur.
Antonin Jamois
Antonin Jamois, born in 1979 and originally from Paris, was in no way predestined to become a winegrower... After studying agronomy, he left for Argentina and Brazil, then settled for 10 years in Madagascar (hence the name of the Estate!) where he worked as an aquaculturist and as a scuba diver. It is the birth of his daughter that motivates him to come back to France in 2014. Antonin returns...
