Pinot Gris from 65-year-old vines grown biodynamically (certified by Demeter) and planted on the mid-slope of the Grand Cru Schlossberg, which was the first Alsace terroir to be classified as a Grand Cru. Shallow sandy soild over a granite bed rock, Southern exposure. The grape bunches were harvested by hand when ripe. Respectful vinification: slow and gentle pressing of the whole clusters, indigenous yeasts, fermentation and maturation in casks, 14 months of aging in large and old wooden casks, on fine lees.
