Philippe Bornard

Philippe Bornard and his son Tony are neighbours of the famous Pierre Overnoy. They reside in the oldest building in the now renowned village of Pupillin. Philippe had always sold his grapes to the Fruitière de Pupillin co-op, but then in the mid-2000s he decided he should try making his own wine. Thankfully he did, because ever since his wines have enjoyed a huge success. Next, his son Tony struck out on his own to quietly create his estate as well in 2013. He then took over the family estate from his father in 2017, merging it together with the estate he’d personally founded to reach a total of 11.5 hectares. Farmed biodynamically, his Poulsard, Savagnin, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines sometimes give rise to experimentations that represent departures from traditional methods, yet they never lose their pure Jurassien spirit! The wines produced are natural, pure, distinguished juice indeed. Perhaps that’s why these two simple men are always smiling – because their wines are eternally exciting.
