Joan Franquet is originally from Priorat, very close to Barcelona. Being an olive oil producer from generation to generation, he started working with his father at a very young age on the family farm. But more than the olives, it is the vine and the wine that fascinates Joan. On each of his trips, all over the globe, he loves to visit wine estates and cellars... In 2009, he took a closer interest in the subject, resumed his studies, followed his passion and became a sommelier. He then turned to Conca de Barbera, region of Tarragona, where his partner is from. Little by little, he bought organic vines, founded the Costador estate, did his first harvests... The winegrower had no training, neither in viticulture nor oenology, he learned on the job, on his own estate and during his own harvests! The result is truly stunning. Precise, delicious, pure and structured wines. Since 2017, Joan has been working alone and always follows his instinct, his heart, his guts... Passion made life!
