A little fruit bomb, with notes of blackcurrant, plum, and crushed raspberry... Overall a very fresh wine, smooth and easy drinking. A lovely mise en bouche to start the evening, with depth to boot.
Lolita Sene
Lolita Sene, child of the 1987 vintage, began her career at the age of 21 in Paris as the artistic director of a nightclub. She then left the nightlife behind to work for three years at a wine shop, before returning to school to study agronomy. Next, she wrote for the travel guide Le Petit Futé, traveling to Canada and the United States. Settling in Vancouver, she began working as a sommelier. But as her passion for wine grew, so did a sense that she was only scratching the surface of its mysteries. Finally, it was when an old friend moved to the Bugey to set up her own estate that Lolita realised that she too wanted to be a vigneronne! Moving back to France, she acquired 0.97 ares of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault vines in Saint Victor La Coste (Rhône). She vinified her first vintage in 2018, learning everything on the job! “I learned how to make wine by reading Jules Chauvet's books and watching YouTube videos. I pruned my vines with a book on my knees!” Hats off to the artist... the result is stunning, and always delicious!
During fermentation, the grapes smelled like a Marrakech spice market... Hence the name for this cuvée which does take you on a voyage! Even better from the bottle, it bursts with rose, red fruits, and notes of cinnamon and anise. Decanting is mandatory !
A nose with notes of small black fruits, garrigue, and forest floor in the early morning... The palate is at once juicy and brimming with character, with fine, crisp tannins and a tangy blackberry finish. Decanting is mandatory.
A wine with greater depth than Lolita’s other cuvées, boasting notes of raspberry, cocoa and violet. The palate is pure and precise, offering an explosion of fruit, smooth tannins and lovely length. Decanting is mandatory.
Extremely original nose, carried by notes of mirabelle plum jam, grapefruit zests, candied lemon… Impossible to guess the Grenache Noir during a blind tasting! Palate: dry and smooth, fresh without lacking structure, in shorts we kiffe (dig, in French slang) this juice!
Nothing to do with the 2021 vintage, but just as delicious! A captivating juice, carried by citrus fruits, white peach, floral hint. Digestible palate, pure, the little maceration brings a nice structure to this highly refreshing juice.
Bling blinggggg! A southern Chardo without any heaviness or exuberance, carried by notes of white fruits, it's chic and fresh at the same time. A soft and delicate juice, solar.
Nose carried by notes of currant and blueberry, flowers, menthol, maquis. The palate is both juicy and delicately spiced, with a tangy blackberry finish.
Superb variation of Lolita's Syrah, a fresher and more digestible version, really carried by the brilliance of the fruit and this floral aroma, of violet, so characteristic of the grape variety. You can uncork and taste it at any time of the day and night, it will always be a great success!
