Notes of tart cherry, blueberry, blood orange, long pepper and aromatic herbs. Palate: lively attack, small crunchy tannins, a real acidity which gives peps to the initial fruitiness, very nice drinkability. Get ready for a beautiful taste trip !
Viktor Sipos
Viktor Sipos traveled the world before coming back to Slovakia. As an engineer specialized in power plants, he lived in London, Vietnam and Martinique. Willing to settle in his hometown, he looked for a family house in Levice, South-West of Slovakia. It was chance (fate!) that put his current home in his path. It’s situated in the middle of the vineyards on the hill of Siklos, he began to clear the surrounding plots. The new winemaker learns on the job, his grandfather used to make wine so the challenge did not scare him. He founded Siklos Winery in 2019: an oasis set on a very specific carbonate calcium terroir, a breathtaking 360-degree panorama on the top of the hill, with old vines in great shape, complanted, with tons of fruit trees... For the time being, Viktor only has one ha of vines in property, and dreams of making Slovakia shine "while remaining small". The bet is up, the very first wines are already transporting us elsewhere!
