Pure nose of crisp red fruit and raspberry. A wine of incredible freshness and fine tannins. Perhaps the perfect red, a wine you can enjoy from aperitif to the evening’s end, a festive, joyful wine, to be shared with friends – after all, the Bamboche (think “shindig” in French) never ends!
Sophie et Clément Maire-Kurdziel
Sophie and Clément Maire-Kurdziel, just in their early forties, are respectively from Moselle and Aveyron in France, and met at the university in Montpellier. Both became oenologists, they worked for large Estates in France and abroad, before returning to the Loire Valley. Being actually close to the field and the vineyards, they quickly realized the limits of chemistry, and became more interested by natural wines. To get a better idea of it, Clément trained as a vineyard worker, understanding organic viticulture. It was somewhat by chance that they found Les Justices plot, on a classified ads website! They harvested it for the first time in 2018, and are today at the head of a little less than 2 hectares. They also vinify with high-quality bought grapes, producing some of our favorite cuvées that we’ve tasted in 2021. In short, la Bamboche (one of their cuvées) - meaning “shindig” in french, is just getting started!
A nose of prune, spices and black fruit. The palate is fresh and fruity, with length and just enough volume to make it a great food pairing. If you’ve never been a fan of Cabernet Franc, watch out, this may be the wine to reconcile you with the grape variety! A wine oenophiles will love!
A nose of redcurrants, blackcurrants, raspberries, and blood orange, with a hint of peony... This is some fresh, thirst-quenching bubbly, offering great finesse and pleasure – we want another glass!
A luscious nose of roasted white fruit, candied lemon, lime blossom and a hint of honey. A round palate, with lovely volume, fruit and body, balanced by fine acidity, and a long, luscious finish.
We need la bamboche (a hokey French term for festivity) more than ever, and also more wines like this! A smooth, fluid juice with crisp, light tannins, this fruit bomb of little red berries continues to delight us with its pep and freshness!
A natural sparkling cuvée that checks all the boxes, with notes of small red berries, redcurrant, plum, grapefruit, and a hint of flowers. A lively palate, not funky in the least, but sapid and salivating, with fine acidity – this is some elegant pét-nat!
A concentrated nose of black fruits – blackcurrant, blackberry jam – with long pepper and floral notes. The palate is built for wonderful food pairings, with very elegant, almost silky tannic structure, plus fine acidity, beautiful freshness, and a long, fruity finish.
A nose of ripe fruit, blueberry, plum, cherry, and sweet spices, with a hint of sandalwood. Rather full bodied and powerful for this variety, this is a complex wine, without lacking smoothness and freshness – a very well balanced cuvée.
