Bénédicte Ruppert et Emmanuel Leroy

Bénédicte Ruppert and Emmanuel Leroy, a couple both in life and in the vineyard, are at the head of the eponymous estate, Ruppert-Leroy Champagnes, located at the end of the region, just a few kilometers from Chablis. These two sports teachers who met through their passion for kayaking, decided in 2009 to buy the vines that Bénédicte's parents rented from the town of Essoyes in the Côte des Bar. They converted these four hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to organic farming, released their first vintage in 2010. The following year, Bénédicte began a training in biodynamics: for the couple, it was obvious that they would follow this philosophy. Surrounded by forests, they even think of planting trees in their plots, a natural means of enriching biodiversity. The estate has been certified by Demeter in 2014. Bénédicte and Emmanuel's approach is that of winegrowers: one plot, one vintage, one cuvée, without dosage, and without added sulfites. Rare wines found on the best gastronomic tables.
