Françoise Julien & Christophe Peyrus

Françoise Julien and Christophe Peyrus have been at the helm of Clos Marie since 1995. Nestled in Lauret in the Languedoc, this dynamic duo tends to around 20 hectares of vines, biodynamically from the start – no biggie! Christophe, a former French Navy man, had no idea he'd end up among the vines. But here we are… and it's a smashing success! With Françoise, a former marine biology professor, and their meticulous hard work, Clos Marie has become THE reference for Pic Saint Loup. They've made Marie, Françoise's grandmother, proud, inheriting her vineyard parcels perched at 650 meters altitude: indigenous grape varieties, massal selection, gobelet pruning… The Domaine embodies the beauty of their appellation, both in the vineyard and in the glass, showing sincere respect for their terroir while bringing a real breath of fresh air to the region. Clos Marie's reputation speaks for itself – all that's left is for you to taste!

Powerful nose, wildly complex and constantly evolving: leather, forest floor, prunes, garrigue, tobacco, tapenade, spices... Dense palate, with a beautiful texture, showcasing the best of Pic Saint-Loup. Ideally, let it rest for a few years in the cellar. Decanting recommended.
