Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau

Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau has been leading the family estate since the passing of his father Didier in September 2008. Located in Pouilly-Fumé, this 12-hectare vineyard is fully dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc, with a focus on expressing the grape’s purity through precise work. The use of indigenous yeasts, tight débourbage, and extended lees aging without racking allows the wines to reflect the terroir and vintage in their truest form. Aging in large 320- and 600-liter barrels enhances complexity, preserving the fresh, mineral character so characteristic of the estate. Dagueneau’s cuvées are rare and exquisite, perfect for connoisseurs of great white wines. The estate also produces Jurançon at Domaine des Jardins de Babylone, a true model of balance.

A rare cuvée to be savored, with a pure and powerful aromatic profile: notes of honey, candied citrus, and a bold mineral backbone. A dry, crystalline, and razor-sharp wine where Sauvignon takes on an elegant expression, finishing with a saline touch and subtle smokiness.

Pale robe but an expressive nose of lemon, salted butter, and exotic notes. The palate is taut and concentrated, with barrel aging adding beautiful texture. A long finish with fine, structuring bitterness. Best with a few years of patience; decanting is essential in its youth.
