A beautiful, dry Chenin—complex, with notes of lemon, white peach, verbena, and chamomile, a mineral backbone, and plenty of freshness. On the palate: savory, with great purity and tension, and a long, powerful finish carried by a hint of vanilla.
Henri Bruneau & Antoine Labrosse
Henri Bruneau and Antoine Labrosse have run Clos de l'Épinay since 2023, taking over a historic Vouvray estate founded over 300 years ago, with the manor house at the Clos dating back to 1702. We're on the premier côte here, soils mixing clay, limestone, flint, and clay-silica sands. The 18 hectares — 17 of them Chenin — are massale selection, farmed organically, with huge work first on parcel selection, then on the winemaking. Case-by-case is the rule in the cellar: deep analysis to bring out the full potential of each wine, adapting pressing method, vessel... total tailor-made! Henri holds a viti-oeno degree and co-founded Domaine des Frères in Chinon (no less!). Antoine Labrosse co-pilots the estate's takeover and evolution, steering with Henri a clear shift toward precise, natural, delicious wines, rooted in their terroir.
