Burgundy
A nose of ripe red fruits, with notes of cherry and redcurrant. Palate: beautiful intensity, concentration, and acidity which perfectly balances what is ultimately a wine of great refinement, with magnificent length, and a raspberry jam finish.
Pinot Noir from old vines cultivated biodynamically and planted in 1930 on a small, undulating 0.10-hectare parcel of clay-limestone soils. Les Petits Monts is located just above Richebourg. The soil is ploughed with horses, the grapes are harvested by hand, and yields are kept under tight control. Vinification: the grapes are 100% destemmed, followed by gentle pressing, 16 months of maturation in oak barrels, a quarter of which are new. Bottled without fining or filtration and in accordance with lunar cycles.
Cyprien Arlaud embodies the third generation of Domaine Arlaud, a relatively young family estate born in 1942 of the meeting and marriage between the Burgundian Renée Amiot and the Ardéchois Joseph Arlaud.
