Esquiss - 2019 - Gaec Courtois Kuka

Julien Courtois & Heidi Kuka

Late harvest but completely dry — with floral tones, dried apricot, forest floor, and a touch of eucalyptus… It’s deep, complex, powerful, and constantly evolving — you want to dive right in. On the palate: huge volume, endless length. Unique, delicate, and brilliantly executed.

100% Menu Pineau from old vines farmed organically. Harvested by hand, very late, at full maturity — the grapes were picked in November. Natural winemaking: direct pressing, fermentation and ageing in barrels for 60 months. The wine develops a beautiful amber hue and fully ferments to dryness. Bottled without fining or filtration, and with no added sulfur. The label representing an elephant is a Maori design drawn by Heidi Kuka, Julien’s partner.
