Pineau d'Aunis - 2023 - Hervé Villemade
Hervé Villemade
This is the second vintage of red wine made from this grape variety, with a fresh nose carrying notes of pink peppercorns, soft spices, and small red berries. Smooth on the palate, beautifully fresh, with fine, well-integrated tannins and a peppery finish.

100% Pineau d'Aunis from 26- to 41-year-old vines, grown organically, this cuvée is produced thanks to grapes bought to another organic winemaker, that were harvested by hand by Hervé and his team. Natural vinification: maceration with some punching down and pumping over, pressing, aging in amphorae and "garde-vin" (large stainless steel vats) for 8 months. Bottled at Villemade's in April 2024, without fining nor filtration, with just a micro-dose of sulfur.
