La Montagne du Scarabée - 2015 - Jérôme François
La Grange de L'oncle Charles
Complex and very expressive nose carried by notes of white fruits, iodised notes... Palate: mineral, large volume, powerful and showing beautiful thin bitters. A few words from Jérôme: "Very big white. Incredibly long, dry and mineral."

A blended cuvée from 40-year-old vines, complanted: Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Muscat, grown biodynamically and planted on a unique parcel on the heights of Ammerschwihr. Manual harvest and low yields. Natural vinification: direct pressing, fermentation and 24 months of aging in barrels that have seen several wines, on total lees. Bottled with a light filtration and low sulfites, total SO2 around 40 mg/liter. Long aging in bottle at the Estate.

JÉRÔME FRANÇOIS
Jérôme François settled in Ostheim in 2014. The young carpenter couldn’t resist the call of the vine and started his estate with a few plots from his grandfather and the barn of his great uncle! Late 2017, Jérôme teamed up with Yann Bury. The guys work their vines biodynamically, and work the soil not with a tractor but with two horses, Sirus and Fastochex. A flock of black Ouessant sheep...
