La Montagne du Scarabée - 2022 - Jérôme François et Morgane Stoquert
La Grange de L'oncle Charles
Complex and very expressive nose carried by notes of white fruits, iodised notes... Palate: mineral, large volume, powerful and showing beautiful thin bitters. A few words from Jérôme: "Very big white. Incredibly long, dry and mineral."

A blend of half Riesling and half Pinot Gris from biodynamically-grown vines planted on parcels classified as Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, with granite and clay soils. Manual harvesting and low yields. Natural vinification: direct pressing, transfer into barrels for fermentation and aging in barrels of several wines for 14 months, on total lees. Bottled at the estate without filtration, just a micro-dose of sulfur during racking.
JÉRÔME FRANÇOIS
Jérôme François settled in Ostheim in 2014. The young carpenter couldn’t resist the call of the vine and started his estate with a few plots from his grandfather and the barn of his great uncle! Late 2017, Jérôme teamed up with Yann Bury. The man grows his vines biodynamically, and works the soil not with a tractor but with two horses, Sirus and Fastochex. A flock of black Ouessant sheep...
