The age of reason. Depending on the freshness and balance of Armagnacs of this age, sometimes it is time to stop aging in barrels after 50 years. However, the use of casks that don't contain tannins anymore because of the many years in contact with the eau de vie is still possible. The aromas of roasting, chocolate and leather are characteristic of these aged Armagnacs.
Francis Darroze’s Bas-Armagnacs are « wild » eaux-de-vie, with an absolute richness on the nose and on the palate.
