Hurluberlu in french means "who behaves in a bizarre, extravagant, inconsiderate way", well that's not the case for this perfect red ! Cherry, raspberry, pepper and spices... Very fluid palate, without tannins, a real fruit juice. Decant if you prefer it without the slight effervescence.
Sébastien David
Sébastien David, at the head of the eponymous domain of Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil, is the leader of organic Loire wines. Combative figure of natural wine, Sébastien is above all an outstanding winemaker, who manages an estate passed down over the generations since... the beginning of the 17th century! After seven years in the United States as a winemaker, he returned to the estate in 1999 and immediately turned to organic, just like his grandparents used to do. Today, the 15 hectares of vines are grown biodynamically, and the vinifications are always natural and successful: in amphorae, in ovoid vats, in open vats, etc... Sadly known for having seen one of its cuvées prohibited in 2016 because it had too much volatile acidity for the French authorities; remember that this regulation dates back to 1920… and that the conditions for the production were far from those we know today. It was about time to have Sébastien in Pur Jus’s casting, so now let’s drink his wines!
