Hyper-fruity, a brut cider with great balance, finesse, a hint of acidity, a finish of fine, mellow bitters. "Amzer Zo" in Breton means "we've got time", "there's no hurry"! A cider crafted for food pairings, best enjoyed at the table; it pairs beautifully with meat or fish dishes featuring citrus.
Nolwenn Merrien et Matthieu Huet
Nolwenn Merrien and Matthieu Huet run the Cidrerie de l'Apothicaire, located in Clohars-Carnoët in Southern Finistère, Brittany. These “local kids” had their first careers in healthcare, before founding their estate and setting up in earnest as cider makers in 2018. The choice of Clohars is not insignificant: the small town has a great terroir, historically recognized and renowned in Brittany for its ciders. L'Apothicaire started from scratch: the adventure began by gleaning and buying apples, before taking over 4 ha of old productive orchards, then planting 5 ha of local and ancient varieties. In addition to a fine range of ciders, the duo also produces eaux-de-vie (spirits) using an old column still. Their approach is deeply rooted in the terroir, while leaving plenty of room for creativity, to offer us original, delicate and above all delicious juices.
