Marlène Soria
Marlène Soria is an iconic vigneronne of the Languedoc, who for nearly 40 years has been offering rare, intense, and spellbinding wines… Her domaine, Peyre Rose, is located in Saint-Pargoire in the Languedoc; Peyre for the lieu-dit les Peyras and Rose for the color of the stones at sunset, and also the name of her grandmother. After a career in real estate, Marlène settled into a small house in the garrigue and planted her vines on her own, at first just for her consumption, wanting to do things properly but without any big ambition… Before knowing a sensational success with the 1993 vintage, only five years after her very first harvest! The winemaker continues to pursue her craft and talent, planting Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and just a tiny bit of white. The 30 ha of vines are farmed organically, the agings are very long, and the respect for her wild surroundings always comes first: the domaine is fully energy self-sufficient. Peyre Rose is also the only Languedoc estate with 3 stars from the Revue des Vins de France.
