Myriam & Cyril Chancelier
Myriam and Cyril Chancelier run Château Côtes de Cassagne in Ruch, Gironde. She’s from the Drôme, he’s from the Mayenne, and their story began back in school — in Libourne La Montagne, where Cyril studied viticulture and oenology while Myriam focused on business. They’ve been a team ever since! After Cyril’s military service, the couple returned to the Bordeaux region in 1995, determined to take over some vines. Three years later, in 1998, they found their gem: Château Côtes de Cassagne, a micro-vineyard of just 1.8 hectares — “our little garden,” as Myriam calls it. What began as a small-scale project to find their path has stayed that way by choice; the couple prefers to work together while keeping other professional activities — Cyril also works at Château Jacques Blanc in Saint-Émilion. Incredibly humble — a first for us at Pur Jus — they’ve chosen not to appear in photos or even caricatures. They simply let their wine do the talking.
