A nose redolent of citrus, flowers, stone, hay and pear. The palate is dense and mineral, with notes of citrus and pear. A long, saline finish. This is sharp, ultra mineralesque juice.
Etienne Courtois
Étienne Courtois follows in the footsteps of his father Claude Courtois, vinifying natural, haute-couture wines that are sought after all over the world. Although Claude continues (and always will!) to work as a vigneron on a smaller surface, it is Étienne who now stands at the head of the renowned Les Cailloux du Paradis in Sologne. A dreamlike place where Nature reigns supreme: a domain with vines of course, but also woods, cereal crops, fruit trees… Often ungrafted, the vines are carefully tended, and in the cellar everything is done naturally, with no added sulphur. The whites are deep and lightly oxidative, the reds infused and pure. Everything is carried out according to the standards of a true artisan at the service of his terroir; the cuvées are deliberately declassified as Vin de France in order to free themselves from constraints. Étienne remains a discreet vigneron, always with his feet firmly rooted in the vines, letting the place and the grapes speak louder than his name.
