Domaine de l'Ecu
A nose with notes of smoke and citrus fruits, white flowers, minerals and a hint of brine. On the palate, this wine boasts lovely volume, salty notes, great tension and freshness, and a long finish. The ideal companion for a dozen oysters at 10 o'clock on a weekend!

100% Melon de Bourgogne from 33 to 5-year-old vines, farmed biodynamically (certified by Demeter since 1998) and planted on siliceous soils, facing west/northwest. The grapes are harvested by hand. Natural vinification with gravity-fed grape reception and no use of pumps. Direct pressing of the whole bunches in a pneumatic press, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and ageing on fine lees in underground concrete tanks. Bottled at the estate without fining or filtration, with only a minimal dose of sulfur.

Fred Niger
Fred bought Domaine de l'Écu in 2010, with its perfect soils cultivated organically since 1972, then certified biodynamic by DEMETER in 1998. He’s been collaborating with Guy Bossard since 2014, the master of Muscadet. The pairing is simply miraculous. Fred, a novice at winegrowing but an unparalleled taster, knows exactly what he wants and what he intends to do for wine in the Muscadet....
