Le Grain - 2019 - Château Les Croisille
Germain, Nicolas & Simon Croisille
A fully blossomed cuvée, the most accomplished of the estate, showing notes of Burlat cherry, blackberry, chocolate, oak, and fresh tobacco. The palate is powerful and concentrated, yet soft, supple, and silky. Great aging potential.

100% Malbec from 40-year-old vines, farmed organically, planted at 300 meters altitude on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils in Luzech. Hand-harvested, yields of 25 hl/ha, a micro-parcel selection… and sorted grape by grape! Natural vinification, with a small portion kept in whole clusters. Grapes are placed in open demi-muids for a 25-day maceration, with punch-downs at the start. Pressing and 18 months ageing in the same demi-muids, which are then closed. Total SO2: 20 mg/litre.
